About UsHazel Eyez was established by Metroya Antoinette to provide a platform for independent artists to showcase their talents. The company initially began as a production and promotions company and is affectionately named after Metroya because of her beautiful Hazel Eyez. A native of Akron, Ohio, Metroya migrated to Atlanta at an early age and considers Atlanta her home. A talented vocalist and songwriter, Metroya is passionate about music and the performing arts. Her live performance is bold and invigorating and her passion for music is reflected in every note she sings. She has performed with several bands in Atlanta and in 2003 released “Movementz”; a collection of songs that speak about love and relationships and the challenges of being in the music industry. That same year Metroya created Strawberry Sun-Daze; a music series which features up coming artists in the Atlanta area and surrounding areas. Singer-songwriter Anthony David, Jazz-Soul band Seek and Baltimore’s Yamama’nym are among the many talented artists who have performed on the Strawberry Sun-Daze stage. The series received high praise from several local publications included Access Atlanta, Creative Loafing and Rolling Out Magazine. Shortly after the launch of the series Metroya created an internet communiqué called Hazel Eyez News to keep her customers informed of Hazel Eyez events and other related news. Hazel Eyez News quickly became the premiere e-zine to turn to for information on music, events and other happenings taking place on the Atlanta entertainment scene. Raphael Saadiq, Eric Roberson, U.K. artist Omar and Jhelisa are among the national and independent recording artists Metroya has interviewed on Hazel Eyez News. A self proclaimed journalist, Metroya has written stories on The National Black Arts Festival, Taste of Atlanta and the Atlanta Jazz Festival. After several months of producing Hazel Eyez News it caught the attention of Ginger Dee, Host of Jazz Vibes on WCLK’s 91.9 FM, prompting Ginger to invite Metroya on the show to provide a weekly entertainment segment. The segment was called “A View through Hazel Eyez” and featured information on music, artists’ interviews, and events. Hosting “A View through Hazel Eyez” was a great opportunity for Metroya and allowed her to expand her brand and further realize her vision of sharing independent music with the world. In 2004, Metroya took a brief hiatus from the production side of Hazel Eyez and began focusing on consulting. As a Consultant, Metroya provides one on one consultation in a variety of areas to individuals, businesses’ and cultural organizations in need of assistance in developing their brand. Metroya is excited about the new direction for Hazel Eyez and is committed to providing her clients with ideas, direction, and solutions that bring results. With a professional background in the areas of project management, event coordination, publicity and promotions, Metroya is confident that the new direction for Hazel Eyez will be a major success. As far as the production side of Hazel Eyez, Metroya will continue to develop and produce live events. In addition, the Hazel Eyez News communiqué is still going strong and continues to be a viable entertainment resource for the community. Metroya’s ultimate goal is to expand her brand to major cities in the
United States and in time expand to international markets. |
